Mauritius is fast developing into a world class golfing destination, with excellent championship courses in the eastern and southern parts of the islands and the Rodney Wright designed Tamarina course in the west.
Recently opened in the north is the Mont Choisy Le Golf designed by renowned Southern African golf architect Peter Matkovich. It has special arrangements for guests staying a few resorts including the Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort and the Trou aux Biches Golf Resort.
In the east are the renowned Belle Mare Links & Legends courses, the Bernard Langer Ile-Aux-Cerf course and the Ernie Els designed Anahita.
In the south are the Peter Matkovitch designed Heritage Golf Club on the Domaine de Bel Ombre, the Paradis Beachcomber course at Le Morne and the Avalon Golf &Country Club located in Bois Cheri. This is a fairly new course designed by Peter Matkovitch. It is an 18 hole course, par 72, 6200m in length, nestled in a 550 acre estate, full of lush vegetation with beautiful views of the mountains, ravines and the Southern Ocean.
